Benson Boone 's 'Beautiful Things' was awarded Song of the Year at the awards ceremony. 2025 iHeartRadio Music Awards On Monday evening (March 17), it was noted as the first occasion where a male artist secured victory in that premier category since The Weeknd claimed the award in 2021 with his song "Blinding Lights."
Boone winning iHeart's top prize for his broadly appealing pop/rock smash made up for his quieter showing at last month's 2025 Grammy Awards, where he was nominated in just one category – best new artist. (Though he did make a big splash with one of the most-talked-about performances of the night.)
Billie Eilish 's Strike Me Strong and Gentle was named album of the year. It was nominated for a 2025 Grammy in that same category but lost to Beyoncé's Cowboy Carter .
Gracie Abrams She won the breakthrough artist of the year award. During her acceptance speech, she expressed gratitude towards four musicians who have allowed her to perform alongside them: Taylor Swift, Olivia Rodrigo, Noah Kahan, and The National. Last year, Abrams was nominated as a finalist for best new artist at the Grammys.
SZA SZA secured the title of Best R&B Artist for the third consecutive year, breaking the record for the highest number of victories in this category. This achievement puts her ahead of H.E.R., who had previously won two times consecutively in 2020-21. Jelly Roll secured country artist of the year honors, just a year following his win as new country artist of the year. GloRilla secured the title of hip-hop artist of the year, just two years after she shared the award for new hip-hop artist of the year with Latto. Sabrina Carpenter won pop artist of the year award for the first time. Green Day won alternative artist of the year for the first time.
Three influential women received honorary accolades. Lady Gaga received the 2025 iHeartRadio Innovator Award , Mariah Carey received the 2025 iHeartRadio Icon Award, and Taylor Swift Taylor Swift's record-shattering Eras Tour was dubbed Tour of the Century (despite the fact that we're only one-quarter of the way through the century). In addition, Nelly received the iHeartRadio Landmark Award, to mark the 25th anniversary of his debut studio album, Country Grammar .
The 12th yearly edition of the iHeartRadio Music Awards honored the top-performing artists and tracks broadcast on iHeartRadio stations and via the iHeartRadio application during 2024. This gala took place on Monday, March 17, airing live from the Dolby Theatre at Ovation Hollywood between 8:00-10:00 p.m. ET (with a delayed telecast in PT) on FOX. Additionally, listeners across the country could tune into this event through their local iHeartRadio stations as well as within the app itself. Leading the production behind-the-scenes were Joel Gallen representing Tenth Planet, alongside John Sykes, Tom Poleman, and Bart Peters who represented iHeartMedia.
Fans voted for this year’s top choices in several new categories including favorite soundtrack, favorite Broadway debut, favorite K-pop dance challenge, favorite surprise guest, and favorite tour tradition. They also weighed in on these recurring categories: best lyrics, best music video, favorite tour style, favorite tour photographer, and favorite on-screen moment.
